The foundation we built SellRank on is the one we build on for clients: the Admin GraphQL API, App Bridge, web pixels, Shopify App Pricing, the privacy webhooks and the App Store review process. The job might be a private app that automates one workflow, a public app you want to sell, or a headless storefront.
Private and custom apps
An embedded app inside Shopify admin that does one job your team does by hand today, such as tagging, pricing rules, stock moves or reports. It authenticates with Shopify's session tokens and runs only on your store.
Public App Store apps
Apps built to Shopify's App Store requirements from the first commit: session-token auth, the three privacy webhooks, protected customer data requests, Shopify App Pricing, and a listing, testing instructions and screencast that make review straightforward. We have been through review ourselves, feedback round included, and wrote up what it took.
Headless storefronts
A Next.js storefront that reads products and collections through Shopify's APIs and renders finished HTML, while Shopify keeps running checkout, orders and the catalogue. It suits stores whose theme has hit a performance or design ceiling. For many stores a well-built theme is the better answer, and we say so when it is.
Merchandising and inventory automation
The engine behind SellRank, which orders collections by sales, views and stock, started as work on a live store. We build the same kind of automation for collection order, pricing rules and stock.
Integrations
Google Analytics 4, review apps, ERPs and payment providers, connected so data moves without a spreadsheet in between, with webhooks that are verified and retried rather than silently dropped.
Verification
Anything that changes products, prices or order is covered by automated checks before it ships. SellRank's move planner, the code that writes a collection order into Shopify, is tested on over 78,000 cases.

How much does Shopify app development cost?+
It depends on what the app does and whether it is private or public. A private app that automates one workflow is a much smaller job than a public App Store app with billing, privacy webhooks and review. We give a written scope and estimate after the first conversation, before any work starts.
How long does it take to build a Shopify app?+
A private app for one workflow is a matter of weeks. A public app adds Shopify's App Store review on top of the build; for SellRank, review took under three weeks from submission on 25 September 2026 to approval on 14 October, including one round of feedback.
Can you build an app for the Shopify App Store?+
Yes. SellRank is our own App Store app, and we handle the whole path for client apps: the requirements, App Pricing or the Billing API, the listing, the screencast and the review itself.
Do you work with Shopify agencies?+
Yes. Agencies bring us in when a client needs something Shopify doesn't do out of the box: a private app for one workflow, an integration, a merchandising automation or a headless storefront.
